The marshes of North and South Carolina provide us with beautiful scenic trails. They have a diverse range of plants and animals, including herons, egrets, crabs, oysters, and turtles. The trails are well-made and blend with the landscape, including wooden boardwalks and dirt/sand paths. The marshes change with the tides, so you can witness an ever-changing landscape. It’s a great place for hiking, birdwatching, or enjoying nature.
We visited Vereen Memorial Gardens in Little River, SC, on a beautiful sunny day in November. We walked along the peaceful trails listening to the birds. We stopped to relax on a swing while watching sailboats drift through the water. We made a wish and added our shell to a wish tree filled with wishes of people from all over the world. If you ever have the chance to go on a hike through the marshes, take your time and let the experience leave a lasting impression on you. Enjoy exploring the peaceful and captivating marshes of coastal Carolina!
