Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina hosts an enchanting light display-Nights of a Thousand Candles. We bought tickets for the Sparkle and Fun package several weeks ago after a recommendation from a couple who said it’s a “can’t miss event”. We couldn’t agree more! The Sparkle and Fun package includes a glass of “champagne” and a pair of glasses which create magical snowflake patterns around the lights. 

We strolled through the enchanting gardens, captivating our senses with the soft glow of twinkling lights and the flickering illumination of a thousand hand-lit candles. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy as families gathered for this sold-out event.

As we walked, we listened to live music from a band, complemented by the tunes of a strolling bagpiper. We treated ourselves to dinner from The Fish Shak food truck and sipped cups of delicious hot chocolate.

At every twist and turn, the gardens revealed hidden wonders. Sculptures, meticulously crafted and thoughtfully placed, enhanced the beauty of the surroundings. There were literary quotes, etched in marble and scattered throughout the gardens, which served as reminders of the deep connection between nature and words. The stunning displays invited us to contemplate and appreciate the beauty of nature.

It was an evening that blended imagination, creativity, community, and the magic of the holiday season leaving us with cherished memories that will forever “sparkle” in our hearts.
